Which Way?

About this item

Description Explains the meaning of directions which are dependent upon as well as independent of our body position through picturing playground situations and a Cub Scout hike. The relationship of the sun to cardinal direction and movement of shadows during the day is described. A globe and a light source are used to show the apparent movement of the sun and the actual movement of the earth. The use of the compass is introduced as a group of Cub Scouts on a hike employ it and a simple map to find a lake.
