Programmed Tutoring

About this item

Description Depicts an integrated program of individualized tutoring to improve reading skills on the elementary level. Stresses a discovery procedure to affect reading capabilities such as sight reading, comprehension, and word analysis and shows student-tutor involvement in four parts of the total program--statement comprehension, instructional comprehension, word analysis, and free reading. Notes individualized instruction to meet the needs of the students, versatile prepared programs requiring relatively little preparation of the tutor, and a supplement to classroom teaching rather than a replacement.
