Lightning and electricity

About this item

Description Uncle Wonder reminds boys and girls to get under cover during lightning storms. He explains that lightning is electricity just like it comes from the light bulbs. Uncle Wonder discusses that we see lightning first and hear the thunder afterwards. This is because light travels faster than sound. This also shows that lightning actually sets up the vibrations in the air which make thunder. Uncle Wonder uses a rope tied to the door to show how sound waves move through the air.
