Description Former US Surgeon General Dr. Thomas Parran discusses his history as a medical doctor working for the United States department of health. Included are stories on his family background, experiences at medical school, and time as a public health worker where he was involved in stopping outbreaks of smallpox, typhus, and syphilis. Dr. Parran is interviewed by Adolph Schmidt, Roger James Crabtree, and Emory Bacon.
