About this item

Description Puts forth questions about what determines the sex of the individual and why is there an almost equal number of females and males in the world? With the use of slides and photographs, Dr. Roney delves into the factors which are involved in the determination of sex through an explanation of the chromosomal make-up of normal individuals. The total number of chromosomes is now thought to be 46 rather than the previous 48. Dr. Roney explains that each person carried a potentiality of becoming either male or female, but this balance of potentiality is thrown one way or another at the time of fertilization.
