About this item

Description Begins by discussing the research which has been done in genetics since Mendel's time. Dr. Roney describes the theory of location of genes, and explains how the theory of chromosomes, now a fact, was developed and tested. To demonstrate that traits and chromosomes were always associated, experiments with corn and fruit fly are explained. He shows diagrams and models of the chemical structure of the chromosome and what is involved in the chemical chain of a gene. In cases of twins or offspring who resemble their parents, evidence of the work of units of coded information called genes is seen.
