The art of separation

About this item

Description This program deals with chromatography, the separation of chemical compounds into basic substances in the purest possible form, and with chromatography’s importance to chemistry. With radiation, the chemist is able to work with much greater speed
and ease in the field of chromatography. Harold Strain, senior chemist at Argonne National Laboratories, explains the basic principles of chromatography and demonstrates an actual separation of a chemical compound. Chemists Harlan Frame and Mary Thomas, aided by research assistant Cheryl Rofer, demonstrates basic principles used in various methods of modern chromatography.
