Introducing the New Worker to His Job
About this item
Description |
Presents two scenarios for the first day on the job at a machine tool factory for a new employee, Ed. In the first scenario, the induction is done very poorly and the new worker shows considerable dissatisfaction with his treatment. Ed is left to fend for himself with no guidance, wasting time and causing discouragement. In the second scenario the induction is done as it should be - Ed is escorted to his supervisor, properly oriented to workplace rules and given instruction on the milling machine he is to operate. Ed's fellow workers are introduced, a carpool is arranged and he is invited to join their bowling team. Emphasizes the necessity of making a new man feel secure in his job. |
