Description

Top is of cotton and wool prints and solids in many colors. Backing is of three sections of starched, red cotton (see "Condition" section), tacked to the top rather than quilted, and extending around to front by 1/4" as a border.

Notes

Log Cabin quilt "Log Cabins", a national craze for about two decades after the Civil War, are foundation quilts; this particular pattern is generally called "Barn Raising".
