ΦΓΔ: The Boisen Men

Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, which was founded at Jefferson College, Pennsylvania, in 1848, was established at Indiana University in 1871.  In 1874, Theophilus’ son-in-law Hermann B. Boisen became an honorary member of Phi Gamma Delta while teaching modern languages at DePauw University.

Hermann’s son, Anton Theophilus Boisen, became a legacy member of Phi Gamma Delta at IU as part of the class of 1897, and he continued participating in the fraternity as a post-graduate lecturer.
