Daniel Boone Land Deed (Text)


Know all men by these presents that I Daniel Boone of the County of Kentucky and Commonwealth of Virginia have bargained and sold Unto John and Robert Campbell of the County of Augusta and Commonwealth aforesaid Two Tracts or Parcels of land Lying & being in the County of Kentucky for and in Consideration of the Sum of Six Thousand Pounds Current Money of Virginia, One Certificate of Thomas Brooks for Fourteen Hundred acres Lying and being on the East Side of the Rocky ford fork of Licking Creek adjoining Jesse Hodges land, and the other Certificates of David Burneys for Fourteen Hundred acres Lying and being on the Waters of Licking Creek adjoining James Bucks land on the South Side The Said Daniel Boone doth bind himself His Heirs Executors admrs. or assigns in the Sum of Twelve Thousand Pounds Current Money of Virginia Unto the Said John and Robert Campbell their heirs or assigns As Witness my Hand and seal this Seventh day of Aprill 1780---

The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above Bounden Daniel Boone doth make a good Sufficient Right Title for the above Mentioned land Clear of all Incumbrances Within the Space of Eighteen Months from the above Date Unto the said John & Robert Campbell their Heirs or assigns Then the above Obligation to be Void Or Else to Remain in full force & Virtue.
