Middle-class women of the nineteenth-century were advised to oversee the Christian, moral education of their children. All of these small books are believed to have belonged to Reba Wylie (Seabrook’s daughter) during her childhood. Possibly, Seabrook gifted Thine: Scripture Texts and Poems for a month to her daughter, or, perhaps, this book was given to Reba following the death of her mother.
