Most likely taken around the time of her 100th birthday, the image shows Rebecca Wylie holding her infant great-grandchild, the granddaughter of Louisa, Louise Bradley. As a maternal figure to many of her grandchildren, several of whom came to live with her, Rebecca embodied the idea of extended mothering. Family letters written to or from her attest to her devotion and busy life as a mother of many.
