Description

Top of silk and satin hand-stitched onto white cotton liner which does not show; each block contains a square set on point, composed of an individual strip for each side, the strips growing smaller and smaller towards the center of the square; the square is made of colorful fabrics, while strips of very dark blue are used to fill in the corners of the blocks; edges are bound with green tape, sewn on with an early sewing machine; the backing is white cotton in two pieces; top and back are joined only at edges -- no quilting or knotting.
