Marie Boisen Bradley was born to Louisa Wylie and Hermann Balthasar Boisen in Bloomington, Indiana, on 29 September 1879. Marie lived in the Wylie House during much of her childhood, and she, her mother, and her brother lived there permanently after her father died in 1884. Marie attended Indiana University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, an English major, the first woman to be editor-in-chief of the university’s yearbook, and senior class poet in 1900.  After graduating in 1900, she married Morton Clark Bradley (1878-1954), a fellow Hoosier. After their wedding on 10 July 1900, the couple moved to Arlington, Massachusetts, where Morton worked for the railroad. The Bradleys had two children: Louise (b. 1908) and Bob (b. 1912). Marie accompanied Bob on a trip to Europe in 1934 and spoke about their experiences at the 1935 Kappa Alpha Theta Founders Day dinner in Boston. She was very involved in her local Kappa Alpha Theta alumni chapter and in church functions at Arlington’s Pleasant Street Congregational Church. Marie died on 13 May 1965 and is buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington, Massachusetts.
