Quilts at Wylie House Museum

Quilts are valuable examples of practical folk art. The Wylie House quilt collection contains more than 75 quilts. It includes primarily 19th century quilts, several 20th century quilts, and a robust collection of modern reproductions of period quilts by a volunteer group of quilters.

Explore this digital exhibit to learn more about the role quilts played in the lives of the Wylie family and others throughout history. Learn about the common patterns and styles of the 19th and 20th centuries, the technological innovations that changed quilting, the provenance of some special items in our collection, and the volunteers who help to expand our collection into the present day.

To see all quilts within this digital exhibit on one page, visit the Wylie House Quilt Collection. This represents a portion of the quilts in our care. We hope to continue to add to our online collection.
