Title

Samuel Brown Wylie

Description

His only remaining portrait in the Wylie House Collection, this tintype depicts a young, teenage Brown, as he was affectionately referred. Seabrook Mitchell met Brown in Bloomington, Indiana in the 1870s. In 1887, at the age of twenty, Seabrook married into the Wylie family. From the time of their marriage until 1885, the couple then lived in the Wylie House with Theophilus, Rebecca, Brown’s younger siblings, and a number of in-and-out boarders.
