Various blue transferware sherds, Wylie House, June 2018.

These various blue transferware sherds were all found in the Wylie House front yard, but not all of the patterns have been identified yet. The sherd in the top left color is a patterned called "Basket of Flowers" which was produced in England from 1825-1830. This specific set of dishes were inherited by Theophilus and Rebecca Wylie from Theophilus’s father Samuel Brown. The set originally had over 500 pieces, and the Wylie House Museum has some full pieces on display in the dining room of the house.

The small holes near the bottom of the chatalaine were where chains would be attached that could connect a pair of small scissors, needle cases, keys, etc. for easy access. The date of this particular chatalaine is around the mid 19th century to the early 20th century.
