Blue Spruce Frasier Fir
Title
Blue Spruce Frasier Fir
Subject
Ceramic
Description
Preformed slip mold ceramic tree hand-painted with custom colors, dry bushed white with iridescent glitter to reflect snow, and base wired with led lightbulb. I wanted to create a ceramic tree that reminded me of my childhood at Christmas time. My parents, sister, and I always went to a farm and picked a real tree. My mother loves Blue spruces and that is what we always brought home. Even though the mold that was used is a Fraser fir, not a spruce, combining the aqua and turquoise colors to the detailed Fraser fir mold captured the look of the blue spruce in my childhood memories.
