About the Exhibit Creators

Jackson Harper is a second-year graduate student in the Master of Library Science program at Indiana University. He has worked with the Sciences Library for one year and has previously helped them with preparing library guides. Before becoming a librarian-in-training, he managed and oversaw longitudinal psychology experiments at Penn State University. He conceived the initial idea for the exhibit and was responsible for the principal research and for writing many of the exhibit entries. He is deeply indebted to his collaborators for aiding him in actualizing this project. He hopes that all visitors to the exhibit will enjoy learning about this arc of medical history as much as he did.

Kaitlyn Taylor is a Master of Library Science graduate from Indiana University. She worked at the Sciences Library for one year, providing support for library guides and various other projects with the Sciences Library. Before attending Indiana University, she obtained her bachelor’s from Ouachita Baptist University. Using previous experiences from other Sciences Library projects and her work at Indiana University Archives, she collaborated with Jackson to find and select images for the exhibit and establishing page formats for the exhibit. She created four interactive maps for the exhibit using ArcGIS. She hopes that all patrons find the exhibit both educational and easy to understand and use.

Salinda Miller is a sophomore majoring in Epidemiology at Indiana University. This was her first project working for the sciences library. She wrote the landing pages for each section and assisted with editing and various other tasks. As a student studying disease this project was quite interesting for her and she hopes that others find it just as fascinating.
