Describes the initial view of the war as "distant" to Canadians, but gaining impact domestically throughout the three years. Includes news footage of Winston Churchill addressing the Canadian Parliament, women working in wartime factories, scenes of Catholic priests discussing peace and the war, the building of the Alaska-Canada Highway, and Canadian tank and aircraft production.
