"The overall purpose of this series is to promote a better understanding of the exceptional child and the problems he faces. This will help parents, friends and neighbors to be better prepared to help him toward a life of achievement and happiness. In each program, the child is shown in relationships with his home, his school and his community. The majority of the handicapped children who participate in the programs are not actors, but are children who actually have the problems being demonstrated. Guest experts appear in each program to reinforce the presentation of factual data."
