Mt. Carmel - The Red Buzzard - Nancy 14th Birthday
About this item
Description |
One of the more action packed of the Holland film collection, this one takes us all over the place. We start off meeting Phil Holland's beautiful cherry red prop plane, which he named The Red Buzzard. It's gorgeous red paint job even matches Phil's red pilot's hat. Leaving the air field, we travel to Nancy's 14th birthday party with friends in the backyard. From there, Nancy opens more presents but this time for Christmas 1948. Frank's a teenager, and Nancy poses for a still with her parents before cousins show up for the celebration. After Christmas they travel to Cincinnati for New Years Eve. We see cool shots of downtown Cincinnati and some footage of Philip Holland playing with a young family member. Moving back to The Red Buzzard, it's used to travel to Birmingham, AL, Panama City, FL, and Mt. Carmel, IL. Nancy comes along for the entire journey, and they shake hands with a man in Birmingham. Finally, the film concludes with a black-tie dinner party with a group of Philip and Ellen's acquaintances all dressed to the nines. In one film, we see family, friends, travel, Christmas, and plenty of aviation. It's a pretty jam-packed 18 minutes. (Description written by IULMIA staff) |
