Christmas 1971 to March 1972

About this item

Description Here is an awesome selection from Nancy's collection, featuring her filming style and her family as subjects. Peter and Heather play outside in the snow, while Philip Holland is inside toying with his camera. We see Heather's stuffed animal collection, and we follow her and Peter around the house doing cartwheels. Peter and Heather are inseparable, and she follows her older brother and role model's every step. A common staple of the Holland collection was to document Christmas celebrations, and this year felt like something special: Santa decorations, Christmas lights, and ornaments cover the house. We see three generations of Hollands all enjoying themselves: Peter and Heather the youngest, try on clothes and laugh together; Phil and Ellen the oldest, hugging each other and giving kisses. Phil and Peter have a grandfather-grandson snowball fight, but Heather gets too cold and has to come inside. As the film progresses, we move further into the Spring of '72. Peter has his 8th birthday party, and is overcome with excitement when he opens up a BB gun! Heather has her 4th birthday party with friends, coloring cards, and cake. Although the siblings each have their friends come, the two never leave each other's side. A simple showcase of family fun and sibling love.
