About this item
Description |
It's a typical summer weekend for the Hollands: meat out on the grill, family gathered together, and everyone dressed nicely with drinks in hand. A man and a woman share a kiss through an open window. Another relative lounges out for an outdoor nap, and all enjoy a full spread of food. Phil makes sure to include footage of everyone's vehicles, which always make for interesting reference points during the 1950s. While the scenes switch between different locations, the overall feeling of family and friends getting together and enjoying themselves does not. People of all ages spend time together at a lake house, eating barbecue wings and going for boat rides. Nancy and her fiancee are young lovebirds, giving piggy back rides and laughing. Frank is a full-grown man, and we see some awesome footage of him wiping out on waterskis. As the film progresses, we arrive at Nancy and Donald's wedding. It is a huge celebration! 40-50 cars are lined up and down the street, Phil and Ellen are dressed to the nines, and Nancy wears a smile throughout the whole event. We watch the newlyweds feed cake to one another and share a kiss. It is a beautiful Holland outing. It is also the film that jumpstarts Nancy's own family and, in turn, her own film collection as well. (Description written by IULMIA staff) |
