Frank's 5th Bday

About this item

Description One of the oldest (and the cutest) videos of the entire collection, Frank's 5th Birthday reel paints the most quintessential image we have of the Holland clan's early years. Frank is the older brother to a toddler Nancy, and loves giving her kisses and pulling her around in the red wagon. The footage of baby Nancy and young Philip Holland doing somersaults together in the front yard is absolutely priceless. In addition to quality family footage from Frank & Nancy's youth, the reel showcases several buildings from 1930's downtown Bloomington, as well as a trip to the lake where the kids chase around a family of ducks. Despite all of this, the crown jewel of this film is seeing the baby fat on 2 year-old Nancy. The whole family is joyous to be together: Philip Holland plays with some dogs, Nancy stands and smiles, and Frank roughhouses with a circle of buddies in the front yard. The Hollands' early years are much less documented than are their later years, but this film is an exception to the rule, as we luck out with extremely intimate look into this early decade of Holland history.
