Spring at 1001 S. Jordan - Bloomington Square 1966
About this item
Description |
This film gives us a window into the Holland clan's later years. Peter, Nancy's oldest son, is having his second birthday party. Although young Peter seems confused via his facial expression, he enjoys himself nonetheless. The kids sit at their own table, eat a bunch of cake and ice cream, and proceed to play with cowboy hats and balloons. Later on in the film, the birthday boy enjoys the company of his cousins, Frank & Bette's three children. The boys run back and forth from the driveway to the front yard, chasing each other and laughing excitedly. In typical Phil Holland manner, a single reel documents several different scenes and locations: Downtown Bloomington Square, an instructional fishing trip with his grandchildren, and a couple newlyweds driving off into the distance. Although the scenes switch rapidly and don't lend us a whole lot of background information, we are still fortunate to see a diversely content-filled selection of the Holland agenda from the 1960's.
