Navy League of US - Bloomington to S.F. Cali - Quick Tour S.F. to Oak

About this item

Description Often throughout his collection, Philip Todd Holland would use title cards, street signs, or postcards from a specific location as marker points. This film continues the trend, as it starts off with a map and a pointer, marking out the route they take to travel from Bloomington, to Chicago, to San Francisco. The penultimate destination is an impressive military weapons demo on Pearl Harbor. We watch as helicopters fly around each other, a flame thrower clears a section of beach, a tactile launcher is loaded and fired, and more. Preceding these extensive demonstrations, the Hollands take full advantage of a trip across the United States: stops are made at Fisherman's Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Redwood National Forest. Once again, a film full of diverse content showcases the many levels of Philip Holland and the life he led.
