Frank - Culver Parade - House of Libertyville, IL - Summer 1942

About this item

Description This film is a beautiful account of summer camp in the 1940's. We see dormitories, log cabins, and even tipis to house the campers and staff. The military influence is clear, as Phil Holland is shown, clad proudly in his new LT. Commander uniform. Meanwhile, the young men at Frank's level are all sporting the same white Junior Officer uniform. We watch as hordes and hordes of JO's perform organized movements and formations in unison. There are different levels of campers, as the various squadrons are dressed in different colors. While the obvious theme of this film is military, there are still other elements that remind us we're watching a Holland selection: Nancy doing cartwheels on the grass, Dad and Frank jumping in the lake to swim, and sightseeing in Libertyville, IL to top it all off.
