About this item
Description |
In 1962, the American Fracture Association held its annual meeting at the Huntington Sheraton Hotel in Pasadena, California. While in California, Philip Holland and his wife, Ellen, visited Disneyland. This home movie is like a time machine back to 1960s Disneyland. We take ride aboard the Disneyland Railroad around the park. There also rides on the Jungle Cruise, featuring animatronic alligators, elephants and hippos. Next, a ride on the mine train through Nature’s Wonderland. We take a jerky ride on Matterhorn Bobsleds, and an underway view from the Submarine Voyage. After that, we take a meandering journey through Fantasyland on the canal boat. The last shot of Disneyland is of the train and beautiful posters depicting each land within the park. Next stop, Las Vegas, Nevada. We see the famous Las Vegas strip in all its neon glory. No trip out West would be complete without stopping at the Grand Canyon. Phil captures the expanse, and the film ends with the sun setting on the canyon. (Description written by IULMIA staff) |
