Marble Race was produced by the Dart Manufacturing Company, now the DartContainer Corporation, based in Mason, Michigan. Dart is better known for their “experimentation with expandable polystyrene in the late 1950s [which] led to a line of high quality insulated foam cups”. But, before the foam cups, Dart produced a fun-for-the-whole-family game, Marble Race, which consisted of a series of small sides and chutes which directed a course for marbles. The ads for this showcase typical white, middle class families—from parents, teenagers, to children— enjoying this simple game.

In addition to this game, Frink Studios served MerriPlay swing sets and Strahan Baby Beds, which encourage families to provide this type of furniture for their children.
