Guy and Connie Loftman during the Dean Rusk protests

Description
The image seen here was found with a group of IU News Bureau images that that entity filed under "Football 1968". It is possible that the event seen here was shot on a football game day. Franklin Hall in background. In a December 10, 2015 e-mail to the IU Archives, Guy Loftman wrote: "We can confirm that this is Connie and me in the photograph and it was definitely after we were married in 1967, quite possibly early fall of 1968, as you suggest. We don't recall specifically what we were doing at that location at that time but agree it was probably some sort of protest that we attended. We think Connie was wearing a black veil and I'm in black. Perhaps this was a guerilla theater event in which we were in mourning, presumably related to the Vietnam War." Guy and Connie Loftman later told the Archives that the armband matches arm bands worn by protesters in the IU Auditorium during Dean Rusk's visit. This would make the date of this photograph as October 31, 1967. The Archives also has found that the same armbands were also worn at the protest of Dow Chemical at the School of Business on October 30, 1967. It is unclear why the IU News Bureau marked this envelope of negatives as "Football" and "1968". Armbands like these can also be seen in image P0056969 and on page 55 of the 1968 Arbutus yearbook.
